On February 25th, 1932 Faron Young was born in Shreveport, Louisiana. Young is undoubtedly one of the great fugures of American popular music. With its particular style, in the 50’s it was established as one of the greatest exponents of the Honky Tonk sound. In the 50’s he also recorded some Rockabilly songs, with very good results. Curiously, Faron Young in his youth wasn’t interested in being a country singer, he wanted to devote himself to pop music, he liked Sinatra, Johnnie Ray, Perry Como, etc.. But assist to a Hank Williams’ performance in Louisiana Hayride changed his life, from that moment he decided to devote himself to country music. From Poison Ivy Lovers we celebrate his birthday with our top 10 from Farong Young.
