The young David «Kid» Ramos joined the James Harman band in 1980 and was in the group until 1988. It was his first band as a professional musician and was fortunate to be accompanied by Hollywood Fats, Gene Taylor or James Harman himself. In this band they had formed part before, Phil Alvin and Bill Bateman, who left the band to form The Blasters, Gene Taylor joined them in 1981. The musicians of the James Harman Band, by then, had already accompanied great bluesmans like Muddy Waters, Abert King, B.B. King, T. Bone Walker, Big Joe Turner, Johnny «Guitar» Watson, Lowell Fulsom, among others. For Kid Ramos it was a very good opportunity to tan as a musician, n these years the band recorded 2 lp’s. Thank you baby in 1983 and Those dangerous gentlemens, 2 great albums of rabid R&B that from Poison Ivy Lovers strongly recommend.
