Rednecks & Go Go Girls

Rednecks & Go Go Girls

Country music, even though it is a very traditional genre, has always known how to adapt to the times. Since the appearance of Rock & Roll in the 50’s, Country music has introduced influences from Rock and Pop, with which it has cohabited in different decades. In the mid-60’s the music market was filled with British groups, in the USA there was also a strong musical movement around Folk, the American kids played R’n’B and Garage, while the radio played the hits of Motown and Stax. With all this breeding ground, what has been called Country-Rock appears, the genre has ingredients from all the above, and also has a good percentage of Rock & Roll from the 50’s. At Poison Ivy Lovers we are very fond of Country music of this time, if you are a fan of groups like Southern Culture On The Skids or Smokestack Lightnin, you know well what we are talking about, and you will surely like this.
