The Barbary Coasters were a Rock & Roll band from San Francisco, California. The band was formed with members of the great The Saturn V Featuring Orbit, (we will talk about them closely). The Barbary Coasters were in active from 2004 to 2008 and released 3 Lp’s and 1 single. The band was specialized in Frat Rock, 60’s Rock & Roll, Surf and Beat. His repertoire was composed of themes from The Wailers, Eydie Gorme, Paul Revere & The Raiders, The Pyramids, John Barry, The Dakotas, The Coasters, Santo & Johnny or The Easybeats, and original compositions that looked like they were taken from dark 60’s records. The group was composed by Jessica Roux in the lead vocals, who already collaborated sporadically with The Saturn V Featuring Orbit. Johnny Bartlett on solo guitar, a veteran of the San Francisco music scene, has been in a lot of Surf, Frat Rock, Rockabilly and Garage bands (Wig Torture, The Statesiders, The Phantom Surfers, The Sugar King Boys, The Rusty Nails, The Scubamen, are some of them), Rick «Moonfruit» Kvoriak on the rhythm guitar, Rick was the founder of The Saturn V Featuring Orbitt and The Purple Knifs. David E. Troutt on bass, also a member of The Saturn V Featuring Orbitt, Pat Phelan to the Farfisa organ, previously also on The Saturn V Featuring Orbitt and drummer Philip Hereso, which was replaced by Sammy Gutierrez. Although the band has not been in active for many years, I would say that they are one of the best American groups, in their genre of the last 30 years. When the band dissolved all its members, except Jessica Roux, founded the band The Ogres.
